FSX Finding the"Arapaima" A French Expedition scenery and flights. The arapaima, pirarucu, or paiche (Arapaima gigas) is a South American tropical freshwater fish. It is a living fossil and one of the largest freshwater fish in the world. Arapaima can reach lengths of more than 2 m (6.6 ft), in some exceptional cases even more than 2.5 m (8.2 ft) and over 100 kg (220 lbs). Dr. Amaud Fontain of the Paris Fish Foundation has prepared an expedition leaving from Iquitos in Peru and flying one of the Amazon's many affluents where this great fish have been seen. Perico del Monte, a local fisherman will fly with the expedition to the spots where he fishes these monsters. He has assured the doctor that there are species as large as ten feet and with a weight of over 600 kilos! This scenery plus the added flight will engulf the pilot in an unparalleled adventure in one of the most mysterious river on earth... the Amazonas! read me first...THE ARAPAIMA EXPEDITION

I recomend you also Download
" Plan-G” ( http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/)
which uses the acclaimed and versatile Google Maps mapping tool. Any geographical feature which exists in Google Maps can be included in your flight plans, and all the features of Google Maps are fully available. Overlaid on the Google Map are the necessary navigation features extracted from FS - controlled airspace, airports, navaids, VRPs, etc., with automatic switching at lower zoom levels to avoid clutter. Use it with all flights

Set Up:

1) Make a Directory called "ARAPAIMA" and make two sub-directories called "SCENERY" and "TEXTURE"

2) Unzip the files to a Temporal Directory.

3) Place all .BGL .LC files in the "SCENERY" sub directory just created

4) Place all .BMP files in the "TEXTURE" sub directory just created

6) Place the finished "ARAPAIMA" Directory in FSX/Addon Scenery Directory. Now go to FSX and jump to
The Menu and ADD the Directory to the list Scenery.

7) Print the .JPG MAPs for flight reference

You are now ready to start your flights.....
